We deliver meals three times per week, every week to make sure your meals are as fresh as possible! Our delivery schedule is as follows:

-Monday & Tuesday meals are delivered every Sunday evening, between 5pm and 10pm
-Wednesday & Thursday meals are delivered every Tuesday evening, between 5pm and 10pm
-Friday & Saturday meals are delivered every Thursday evening, between 5pm and 10pm

*If you signed up for an office delivery, we deliver during office hours on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Low Carb Stream‍

Low Carb meals have a high protein content, reduced carbohydrates and plenty of healthy fats to keep you energized throughout the day! Double to protein and half the carbs of the Full Nutrition Stream.

Keto Stream‍

A meal plan designed for the ketogenic diet. Keto meals are curated to help you achieve ketosis, a state when your body switches to using fats as a main source of energy. Meals in the Keto Stream are very low in carbohydrates, have moderate amounts of protein and are high in fat. The keto diet is not for everyone - please consult your physician before starting the Keto diet.

Made without the use of any animal products, our Plant Based meals are mindfully designed to be balanced, nutrient dense, and always include a healthy source of protein.

Fed/diabetes Stream‍

An advanced meal plan designed by a dietician, with a focus on balancing your blood sugar levels throughout the day. Our Fed/diabetes Stream is very similar to our Low Carb Stream, but substitutes for more insulin friendly alternatives when needed to abide by the guidelines set out by Diabetes Canada.

How to pick the right Stream for you‍

At Fed, we recognize that nutritional needs vary person to person due to differences in lifestyle, genetics, age, previous and/or current health conditions and a range of other factors. To pick the best meal plan for you and your unique goals, we recommend speaking with your doctor or a registered dietician who understands you as an individual best.

We also recognize that the amount of calories per day someone needs varies person to person. For this reason, we offer three different calorie options* for our meal plans:‍

Small: 1400 to 1600 calories per day, around 465 to 535 calories per meal‍

Medium: 1800 to 2000 calories per day, around 600 to 665 calories per meal‍

Large: 2200 to 2400 calories per day, around 735 to 800 calories per meal

*In order to stay within the recommended net carbohydrate allowance recommended by Diabetes Canada, our Fed/diabetes meal plan offers two meal sizes, instead of three.

The Ketogenic Diet

‍The keto diet is a low carbohydrate, high fat, moderate protein diet that puts the body into a state called “ketosis”. Ketosis is when the body is producing and utilizing ketones: molecules made by the liver and circulated through the bloodstream. Ketones are produced from the breakdown of fats, which is the reason the ketogenic diet is often called “fat-burning”. Additionally, insulin levels stay low, helping to prevent fat from being stored. First created as a treatment option for epilepsy, it has now become a popular food lifestyle.

Advocates of the keto plan have claimed the following benefits. Please note that Fed does not advocate for the keto plan.

2. Prevents high blood pressure
3. Weight loss
4. Stabilize insulin resistance
5. Decreased food and sugar cravings
6. Increased mental clarity

Is Keto right for you?

Before trying it out, it’s important to determine if the diet would be a good fit for you, as it isn’t for everyone. Clinically, it may be suitable for several different epileptic syndromes including astatic epilepsy, Dravet Syndrome, and West Syndrome. It may also help to control Type 2 diabetes—the impact on diabetes is disputed by experts. People who are severely overweight or obese tend to see positive results on the ketogenic diet because of it’s satiating and fat-burning effects.

However, we recommend that those who are lactating, pregnant, have gallbladder disease, selenium deficiency, or pancreatic disease to refrain from adopting this diet. With the limited macronutrient and micronutrient intake along with fibre, it is important to consider taking nutritional supplements (the dietitian designing our plan recommends multivitamin + fibre supplements)

‍The Keto Flu

The keto flu refers to a group of flu-like symptoms that typically show up two to six days after starting the keto diet. These symptoms include headache, foggy brain, nausea, irritability, and difficulty sleeping. It is important to keep in mind that these symptoms may not happen to everyone. But for those that do encounter these symptoms, know that it is a normal result of your body adapting to the new diet. Staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, refraining from overly-strenuous workouts, and getting plenty of electrolytes can help to mitigate the symptoms of keto flu.

Please see a health professional before going on the keto diet. Keto diet may increase the risk of certain diseases. The efficacy, benefits, and risks of the keto plan are still disputed by medical professionals. Most keto diets, including Fed’s, do not contain adequate amounts of fibres, various micronutrients, and some minerals. Supplements are recommended by our Registered Dietitian.
